It's to remember our ancestors and their sacrifice for their country.
We do that every year here in Korea although they are different how they serve their offerings

Thanks pLusONe and Nishana! I took this in August 2006. I believe it was for a special memorial ceremony (Jesa) for basically all of this temple's congregation.

I didn't know Koreans have that kind of ceremony too. The Chinese also arrange it like this, with the ancestor's name written on a cardboard.Good shot!

each 'stand' has a different meal to it. fascinating! great shot tooo!! gives a fish eye impression.
